INSTRUCTORS
The owners/instructors are Renshi Salgado and Renshi Beach. Renshi Beach is a 5th Degree Black Belt in Shito-Ryu, Renshi Salgado is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Shito-Ryu. Advanced Belt Ranked students (3rd Kyu, 2nd Kyu, and 1st Kyu) who want to learn to teach will run parts of class but one or both Instructors are supervising at all times.
What does Renshi mean?
Polished Instructor- The character “Ren” means “polished, tempered” and “shi” means “person”. Thus Renshi indicates a “polished instructor” or expert. Renshi is a Japanese term of respect and is not tied to a specific rank, but is awarded and represented by a white over red belt. Kaicho Steve Johnson of The National Karate Jujitsu Federation bestowed the title to Renshi Beach on March 1, 2021 and Renshi Salgado on 18 May 2023.
Why is Renshi Salgado here all the time?
Renshi Salgado doesn't have another job. She and Renshi Beach own the studio and she takes care of all the administrative details as well as teaching.. She plans events, handles student accounts, and social media.
Are Renshi Beach and Renshi Salgado married?
Yes, but not to each other. They are just great friends and business partners. Renshi Salgado has been married to her husband, Cesar, since before the 21st Century. Renshi Beach is married to a fantastic lady who enjoys life with him.
